Many of our Members have utilized our Difference Maker Fund program to put their volunteer ideas into action during the holiday season. Read below for some inspiration on how you can use the Difference Maker Fund program to spread some extra holiday cheer this year!
Warmth for the homeless community
Member Theresa Montague and friends used the Difference Maker Fund to purchase yarn. The group crocheted blankets, hats, scarves, and sweaters for the homeless community.
Gratitude cards for military service members
Bernadine Damann and Chapter Members purchased supplies to make 60 thank you cards for military service members. Each card included a meaningful verse and a handwritten note.
Hot meals for community members
Member Virginia Jakoubek used the funds to purchase ingredients for soup. The hot meal was served to community members who were picking up items from the local food pantry.
Christmas gifts for children
Member Jerutha Hough used the Difference Maker Fund to purchase toys and snacks. The gifts were distributed at a Christmas drive-by event for children in need.
Gifts for nursing home residents
Member Amanda Teets purchased essential items like body soap, deodorant, and lotion. Christmas blessing gift bags were assembled and delivered to a local nursing home.
As a Royal Neighbors Member, you can apply for a Difference
Maker Fund grant once a year to help offset the costs of your volunteer project. If approved, you will receive $200 to make a positive social impact in your community.
