Royal Neighbors Scholarship Program

The Royal Neighbors of America Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to Members who are insured by or own an annuity with Royal Neighbors and plan to pursue post-secondary education at an accredited institution to obtain a trade or vocational degree, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or doctoral degree. The application for scholarships to be awarded for the 2022-2023 academic year opens on December 1, 2021.

An Easy Application Process

1. Be prepared with your Royal Neighbors Certificate number and chapter number. Need help? Call (800) 627-4762
2. Create or log into the online application system
3. Complete the application
4. Submit transcripts or work history
5. Submit application by deadline. Applications open December 1 and must be submitted by March 1

Scholarship Criteria

  • Applicants must be a Beneficial Member* of Royal Neighbors over the age of 16
  • Must be attending or planning to pursue a post-secondary education at an accredited institution to obtain a trade or vocational degree, associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or doctoral degree
  • Amounts awarded are varied depending on degree type
  • Applicant must provide high school transcripts demonstrating a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • If graduation from high school was more than 10 years ago, applicant can choose to demonstrate a strong work history as well as provide a professional reference instead of submitting transcripts
  • Dependent children of Royal Neighbors of America board members and senior executives are not eligible to receive scholarships
 
Please Note: Members are limited to four years of scholarship support. This is an annual scholarship and Members must reapply each year.

*Scholarships are awarded annually at the discretion of Royal Neighbors and winners are chosen by previously selected outside judges from local colleges. Only qualifying applicants who are selected by the outside judges will receive scholarship funds. An active Beneficial Member is insured by Royal Neighbors or is the owner of an annuity or settlement contract with Royal Neighbors, who is not currently on Extended Term Insurance.

Member programs are provided at the discretion of Royal Neighbors of America and are not available in all states. They are not part of any insurance or annuity contract and are not guaranteed. Insurance or annuity products should not be purchased for eligibility or maintenance of nonguaranteed membership programs. These products should only be purchased if they meet the financial needs of the applicant. Member programs are available at no extra cost.
